You Don't Exist for You.

After 6 weeks of non-stop exhausting travel which culminated with the sudden passing of Josh’s dad, then a pregnancy, a miscarriage, and walking with my grandmother through her journey to healing, I’ve learned a few things. One major principle I’ve learned, my grandfather put words into perfectly yesterday, “You do not exist for you.”⁣

We don’t exist for the purpose of milking pleasure out of every crevice of our lives. We exist for HIS pleasure, HIS glory, HIS desires and purposes. Fulfilling our own desires, apart from God’s will for our lives, is foolish and a waste of the precious gift of time we’ve been given. ⁣

Comfortability is an added blessing, not a goal. Goodness of any kind, is a sweet gift, not something deserved so don’t act entitled to good. Don’t pout and puff when difficulty comes, it’s opportunity for growth. Time is limited, your days are numbered. ⁣

You do not exist for you. We weren’t created for our own pleasure, we were created for His. What are you doing today that’s solely for you and not for Him or His purposes? What should you be doing instead? Delayed obedience is disobedience so start with something he’s already asked you to do that you haven’t yet. You know what it is for you. If you don’t know how to start living for His purposes start with Matthew 22:37-40. ⁣

1 Peter 2:9 But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted
