This morning it was pouring rain outside! Pure perfection, I love rainy weather. Getting Ellie ready for school I bundled her up in her lime green froggy rain jacket and sent her out the door with Josh, who was waiting with a huge umbrella to usher her from the garage to the car. He gave her the instruction, “Stay close to daddy so you don’t get wet.” But, she got sidetracked and strayed behind getting more wet than if she had been intentional in her obedience and stayed close to Daddy.
Is something sidetracking you from remaining obedient to your Heavenly Father? Obedience keeps you close to Him and under his covering. Sometimes I get myself unnecessarily wet purely because I disobeyed my Father’s commands. Don’t play yourself. Be obedient and see how the father covers you, even in the rain.
Deuteronomy 5:32-33 (MSG)
“So be very careful to act exactly as God commands you. Don’t veer off to the right or the left. Walk straight down the road God commands so that you’ll have a good life and live a long time in the land that you’re about to possess.”
