Just Do it: Putting Gods Word into Action!

Last year this time I was learning so much about God and what He wanted from me. But, I couldn’t figure out how to just buckle down and DO what he was asking. Knowing the Word of God and doing the Word of God are two totally different things. I was gaining knowledge, but falling behind in applying it. ⁣

At some point I believe God says as much as He can and then gets quiet so that we can act on His instruction. Well, God got quiet on me! I soon realized there’s not a science or special sauce to applying the word of God. It’s simply a choice to ignore all of the reasoning and emotions that our sin-nature places in front of us, and DO what God has said, no matter what. So I put my head down and got to work. ⁣

One of the benefits of being obedient and doing what God asks, is growth. While I was working, so was God. Josh and I looked up from “doing” and saw the growth God had created while we were being diligent to do what He’d asked. So we hired two new full-time employees and moved them into a new office space! ⁣

God isn’t asking us to be obedient for no reason. He has plans to prosper us and for a future! What has God been asking you to do? Whatever reason you’ve been coming up with not to do it is only holding you back from God’s good and perfect gifts. You know the verse, let’s say it together..⁣

“I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.⁣
When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed. “ Jeremiah 29:11-14
