In the past I’ve often hesitated at allowing Ellie & JT mess-making fun. The huge task I would incur in the aftermath of the mess, didn’t seem worth it. But I’ve learned that denying them the opportunity to learn and grow by exploring and making messes, only keeps them from memories and growth. So in time I’ve come to know that the clean up is worth it. Memories over messes any day, any time.

One of the things I love most about allowing my kids to make a mess are the life lessons that come along with it. As we complete an activity, they are allowed to make some mistakes and get a little dirty for the sake of learning. As a parent it’s an opportunity for me to show them grace in their mess and lend a gentle hand while dusting them off and sending them along with new experience that has taught them something valuable. Making a mess for us is always a learning experience!

One of the secrets to my sanity during the mess making is all® stainlifter® odor lifter liquid detergent. Putting my family first and creating the moments that make the messes is ’all good’ because all® laundry detergent is there to help with the clean up. Today’s mess was repotting our tomatoes after they outgrew our quarantine “let’s see if we can grow things” tester pot. Digging new holes turned into watering dirt, which turned into spraying mom with the hose, which somehow evolved into finding way too many slugs and saving them all in a jar. An activity supposed to take an hour, took all afternoon and erupted into a mess-making family activity. And I’ll remember this little afternoon for years to come. Memories > messes.
